Which all countries need IELTS?

IELTS examination is accepted worldwide as an English language proficiency evidence mark for study, work and migration. The IELTS is accepted in countries like Australia, Canada, New Zealand, USA and the UK for study and work. Each country has its own set requirements of IELTS score.

Which countries accept IELTS score for non-academic proposes?

The IELTS test is applicable and considered for non-academic purposes such as recognition by professional bodies, immigration authorities and other government agencies unlike the TOEFL or PTE exams. Usually, the IELTS is a gateway for admission to universities in countries such as the UK, Australia and New Zealand. The TOEFL is more widely accepted by the US universities.

Where can I take IELTS?

There are several centers and institutes that organize the IELTS exam. You can find the centers for IELTS near your location and take a test from there. More than 2 million people a year take this test.

How much does it cost to take IELTS?

The cost to take IELTS examination ranges between $215–240 USD on an average. The cost may vary according to your location.

Which countries do not need IELTS?

There are countries that do not demand IELTS score. Those are Australia, Ireland, Belize, New Zealand, Botswana, Nigeria.

What is the validity for IELTS?

IELTS scores are valid for two years. However, some employers/educational institutions ask for further proof of a candidate’s level of English if the test was taken more than two years ago.

Can I take IELTS without a passport?

No. Without a valid passport, you will not be able to sit for IELTS. There is an exception for an EU citizen, they are allowed to use their National ID card for registration instead of a passport.

How many times can you take IELTS?

You can the test as many times you wish to. The fees for the exam should be paid each time.

What are the documents required for IELTS?

Your valid ID proof; valid passport/national identity card. You are required to produce the same identification that you provided on your IELTS Application form.

Is IELTS writing exam in handwriting?

Yes. However, if your handwriting is not good, you are recommended to write in block letters.

Can we use Pen in IELTS?

For IELTS writing test you can use Pen. However, use of the pen is not mandatory. You can opt for Pencil as well. In IELTS listening and reading, you MUST use a pencil for filling in the answer sheet. Carrying eraser with you is not allowed.
