What is the difference between PTE and IELTS?

PTE exam is a computer-based test. IELTS is written, reading and speaking based. PTE test is neither based on British English nor on American English. Rather, it is based on international level. IELTS focuses on North American, British, Australian and New Zealand English.

Do I need to know about the specific subject to take PTE?

No. PTE test covers a range of subjects, but you are not being tested on those subjects. Only your English ability is being tested.

Do I need to have computer skills to take PTE exam?

No. Computer skills are not required to take PTE exam. However, good typing speed will be advantageous.

Does my English accent affects test score?

No. PTE is a computer-based exam. It recognizes speech from various non-native English language speakers.

How many times can I take the test?

There is no limitation on the number of times you can take the test. However, you are allowed to book for one test at a time. In order to book the test again, you need to wait for the result of the previous test.

Am I allowed to take the notes during an exam?

Yes. You will get an erasable noteboard booklet which will be about 5 sheets of A4 paper. You can ask for another one booklet, in case first one is not sufficient.
